Police officer resigns after biting off man's scrotum in drunken brawl

A police officer who bit a man's testicles during a fight at a bar in the US has resigned.

The 31-year-old off-duty Maryland police officer identified as Michael Flaig was arrested and detained on May 5 for allegedly biting a man's testicles in a bar in Baltimore.

Flaig who said he bit the man's testicles for making unwanted sexual advances on his female roommate was charged misdemeanor second-degree assault, public intoxication and endangering the victim’s safety.

Spokesperson, Jacklyn Davis, has disclosed that Flaig who serves at the Anne Arundel County, U.S., left the department for unspecified reasons on Sept. 25, adding that it was apersonnel issue.

He is serving a one-year probation after he was convicted of the crime.
