Bola Tinubu\'s Mother, Abibatu Mogaji Dies At 96
The National Leader of the
Action Congress of Nigeria
(ACN), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu,
has lost his mother, Alhaja
Abibatu Mogaji. She died
Saturday evening at her
Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos home at
the age of 96.
Until her death, Alhaja Mogaji
was the President-General,
Association of Nigerian Market
Women and Men of Lagos
State and had major influence
in her son and the affairs of
the State.
As the President-General of
the markets operating in the
State, she was part of those
who made the decision for the
markets to always observe
sanitation every Thursdays.
She had more than 10 titles
bestowed on her by traditional
rulers and interest groups
across the nation.
Some of such titles included
the Iya Adinni of Yaya Abatan
Central Mosque, Ogba-Agege,
Yeye Oba of Ikirun Land, Yeye
Oba of Kweme Kingdom,
Badagry, Yeye Oba of Osolu
Kingdom, Yeye Oba of Lagos to
mention but a few among
several other honours
including the ones from the
Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement
Agency, National Council of
Women Societies, Eko Award
1991, National Youth
Organisation and Law Ladies
Forum, University of Lagos
amongst others.
A devout Muslim and
philanthropist, she will be
buried on Sunday at Vaults and
Garden, Ikoyi, Lagos at 11am,
according to Islamic rites.
